The pandemic restrictions had schools in Manipur shut down for most of 2020. Kakching Life School had been kept open during the entire lockdown period, with full strength of both residential and teaching staff, and best efforts were made to send lessons via messaging apps like WhatsApp, to as many children as possible.
In the beginning of 2021, the government permitted schools to partially re-open, and children from grades 6-12 were able to attend school on campus. However, after being open for a couple of months, Life School had to close again. This was in adherence to the general government guidelines across Manipur & India due to the second wave of the pandemic.

During the break, staff pitched in to give the school a fresh coat of paint. We also repaired the bamboo fence alongside the girls’ hostel.
A long pending Electricity project at Life School was also completed. The temporary wiring has been removed and new high capacity wires and casing, outlets, fans and light fixtures have been installed throughout the school, chapel and both hostels, a combined 14,700 sq. ft. of buildings.
